Tarot Weekly 3/28-4/3/11

A break away from a usual or old way of thinking that could be a negative voice within. Check that. Watch for the inner saboteur, our own trickster when it comes to foundations and / or foundations of passions. We could inadvertently cause our own stumble.

Ideas and plans are still young and, yes, even immature, but everything has it’s cycle from birth to death. We are in a state of constant Bardo, culture young thoughts as would a child. Stoke enthusiasm, creativity, and spontaneity. Cultivate those resonating relationships that are highlighting the free spirit, and lift up the melancholy.

Let go with that grip! Clinging to the way things are or what you don’t wan to let go of (mentally speaking), and embracing the security of change, the flow, movement and newness. Open up your mind, seek improvement by learning through the experience.

There may be concern about how this affects your standing in the eyes of others but one should be cautioned not to be so self deceptive about self importance, or egotistical about the person we wish to be perceived as. Our friends and loved ones see us for who we are, not just the mister or misses popularity that we want them to see.

Examine our reflection. Explore our spontaneity, our inner adolescent. See our self in the moving, dancing, singing, spring time world around us. It is young again.

Note: Mercury is going to go Retrograde this week, on the 30th.

It’s time to be mindful of what we are communicating, transmitting, sending and receiving in our messages psychic, and on the world wide web. *wink* There is a Mars / Aries action adding to an emphasis on the child and action, but that could also lead to foot in mouth disease. Laugh it off. Be light.

Be well,

As I wrote the date I shivered. We’re getting close to tax time! *eek!*

It’s spring. We just weathered a lovely and powerful deluge in Los Angeles. It was cold enough that at some points it was as if there was snow in the air. I kid you not. Fluffy white flakes fluttering around our third story aerie. Touching the glass and melting. It lasted for all of 10 minutes, mixed in with the rain you wouldn’t even have known it was there unless you were watching closely as it fluttered and then vanished on the window.

Aligned with the Vernal energies, it’s the natural way, I’m feeling the cleaning bug. Every corner of the home looks like it needs a magickal hand, a witches broom, a wash of lemon and cedar. Shelves look cluttered. Books seem dusty. I like dusty old books. Maybe I’ll leave them alone.

Look at the needs to clean and organize on a few levels. Physically clean and organize, if you haven’t already. Get papers, files, and aisles of things in order. As we work on one level we can also cleanse and organize on another. It reminds me of my mother, organizing her thoughts and her day while in the process of cleaning. I do the same thing, it’s a moving meditation.

There are some details that I think deserve looking into like taking an idea that you’ve mulled over and finding a means to make it happen.

Tarot Weekly

Have a little faith and trust in the process. We’re entering a new phase and doubt, melodrama, acting out doubts or hesitations where we are uncertain about our path or process aren’t going to do anything but make a scene or draw attention to yourself.

You may not feel appreciated by those around you, at least in regards to those you might immediately share your “exciting new idea.” Keep it close to the heart. The path is calling. The draw to move into a new direction, or begin a new project is felt, but just not yet. Test the waters, refine your thoughts, mull over a cup of tea and have a little faith.

Be innocent with yourself.

There are some hidden energies at work… or we might say unforseen forces or “the things that are happening just beyond our sphere” that affect us.

We can’t see all things. We can’t know all that will happen. These cards remain hidden but the message: little death, or minor ending and beginning. Watch your finances and specifically how much is going out of the pocket into the hands of others.

You could probably benefit with a little Journey Work, and exploration of things unseen to suss out what is draining you of vital energies. Diet. Friend. Situation. Identify where your energies may be leaking, or being leached, away.

Use your resources to shore up what you have. Give some thanks for the fact that we have our home, our jobs, life, friends, and health unlike many people in the world today. Getting a bigger perspective and wait for the right connections to come into play and until then celebrate your good fortunes with loved ones, family, and friends.

Find harmony in all of your elements.

Be well,

Happy Moon-day.

I was fortunate to have a little time this weekend, when not at work or cooking, cleaning, and trying to find a piece of the pie to pull my Tarot in advance. You may not know this but if I don’t get to it midweek I’ve pretty much set myself up to jockeying for time on the weekend. It’s no worry but I don’t like to write under a time crunch.

This week you will notice there are only three cards. Well there are only two but there is a story there, naturally and up until this morning I wasn’t able to really draw on anything else.

The reason there are two strength cards?

Well one was lost! The card on the right has been missing for some time, almost a year and as I put down our significator (The Star) for the reading, the Strength Card came away from the star in my hand. Like a parlor trick the one card became two. Strength! There you are!

Stranger, as I picked up my deck to begin the shuffle as I cut the deck, strength was in my hand.

Pause…

Place. I left the cards in this order and I went into my weekend with an openness to the message here.

Tarot Weekly March 7-13, 2011

Seek bliss to find bliss. The internal flame that rises like a serpent in the darkness.
~Pgs. 294-295 Strength, Tarot of the Spirit, Pamel Eakins, PH.D.

Excerpt

Joseph Campbell:

Remember the last line [in the novel Babbitt]? “I have never done the thing that I wanted to in all my life.” That is a man who never followed his bliss.

You may have a success in life, but then think of it – what kind of life was it? What good was it – you’ve never done the thing you wanted to do in all your life. I always tell my students, go where your body and soul want to go. When you have the feeling, then stay with it, and don’t let anyone throw you off.

Bill Moyers:

What happens when you follow your bliss?

Joseph Campbell (after pausing):

You come to bliss.

On a walk up in the hills behind the Griffith Park Observatory it came to me how much my eye is drawn to plants. It’s no mystery. I look through my digital photo gallery and no matter where I go, I’m watching, inspecting and mentally dissecting the parts and components of plant life. I imagine how deep the roots must travel and spread. I compare the thought to the branches, stalks, leaves and sometimes flowers.

As early as I can remember I have been surrounded by plants in my  house. I can’t not have them. The more I have the better I feel. It is, however conscious or imagined, my thing. I feel very connected to my green people in the house and out.  They give the air I breath, the food that sustains me, you and everything else, and they make my home feel great.

It is the feeling that brings the strength because these forces of the natural world are what replenished me on the walk. I derive a great sense of peace and strength from the plant world. I base much of my philosophy on trees, roots, blooms. Nature really does sustain me!

In Strength, this week, I would like to see you finding sustenance in your source(s) through activities that bring you to the place where that feeling, the vibration, of your solace is resonating like a song, in every part of your body. Forget the astrology, the details, the minutia and immerse in that at the start of the week.

Let that inner feeling be a wind to your sails, let them be full as you travel forward through the next seven days.

This is my bliss…

Be well,

Hello possums. 🙂

I’m on the recover from a severe cold, a virus that went hack and slash through my system for about a week, a cold that I couldn’t defend against on Friday. I had a few days of downtown, a lot of healing with Reiki, EO’s and some distance help -plus a few healthy chugs on a theraflu bottle when I thought my throat couldn’t take it anymore, and here I am on Monday, wobbling back into action.

On Sunday I was not sure I would be able to channel a lick today but it seems that those who send me the weekly message are in tip-top form, and since I’m able to meditate and type, we’ve got a weekly.

I chose a Significator this week. There are a few ways to choose Significators I choose my higher guidance. I was bouncing around a few cards, Magician for the manifesting work; The Universe for the absolute; and then the Star which for me related to healing and also channeling information or “looking into the future.”

In considering the Star I came across the following passage in the Tarot of the Spirit which confirmed my guided choice.

Tarot card from the Rider-Waite tarot deck, al...

Image via Wikipedia

“At the Star, you recognize that you are of the ephemeral physical plane, but you are also of the heavens,

the plane of eternal light. There is not contradiction. Through this knowledge, all things that exist upon earth are brought into perfection.”

The Star is also related to Aquarius, the visionary. There is also something authentic about the star, he or she is pouring water into the pool and onto the earth. It may seem strange to un-expecting traveler (The Fool) but when queried the Star explains that the water is for the pool that it may always be full to nourish the travelers who visit it, and the water on the earth is for the life that is seeded and rooted there. It is for the future.

Tarot Weekly

Weekly, February 28 – March 6th, 2011

I’m looking at the power of the Star shining through in our relationships. The Two of cups does indicate “with others” but I wouldn’t rule out “with our self” if this is right. Re-visioning or healing at a level which brings us into, or back into connections that open our minds and/or allow for a healthy exchange of the life force energy to be a part of the process with an emphasis on love and intimacy.

The Nine of Cups in our Northern Quarter tells us that there is success to be had in this attempt, relationships offering rewards that are both satisfying and healthy. Achieving what we want, or your “wish coming true.” Be mindful of what you are wishing for and careful of overindulgence.

In our place of power rides the Knight of Pentacles, the Eastern Door and new things but he is a very heavy card, his mind bent to details, minutia, and the letter of the law. This may feel burdensome or overly prudent. My feeling tells me that he (potentially a she) is someone bearing a gift that we should consider (two of cups)  against the expansive feeling / energies / that we would like to execute.

For some I would question whether this is your idealism meeting practicality, and missing the generosity that is being offered because you can’t be bothered with details.

Potentially this could be a “Knight in shining armor.”

The Moon makes a marked appearance in the realm of our mind. Another emotional card, it is for us to reflect the light of the star through our selves so that our mind is focused on the proper channel of light, not the fears or doubts of the past.

That does highlight the importance of the Knight of Pentacles.

In the Western Door is an inverted Nine of Wands, asking about what sort of experience we are drawing on. The healing is in listening and releasing the past and how you move through your emotional relationships and connections. What is old and outmoded should be clear because you are experiencing it yet again. This isn’t a warning of defeat, simply a note to you saying that you are experiencing a newness and any One (Ace of Wands) bringing the passion of ideas, needs to be looked at as a new creature. A new creation. A new dance that should be experienced, not ticked and weighted against your past and any drama, hurt, or pain you may be holding onto.

In broader sweeps I see the release of emotional baggage, and karma associated with relationships. Clearing the channel leaves the healer, visionary, open to hold a greater space for love, insight, and energy to pass through.

Others, healers, and seers are the forerunners of tomorrow, keep your self healthy. Observe your interactions, your relationships, how you meet them, tend them, and cultivate them.

Our true message is within the center of these fires of the heart.

Welcome back.

The Sun entered Aquarius and we’re given the boon of the star in this weeks reading. I like these combinations between astrological movements and the cards that come into play during the weekly. It gives me a little smile and expands the trust I have in the universe. There is also a note with Saturn, Retrograde (January 26th), which as the great restrictror is asking for a look at commitments we made to projects and/or goals. Reorganize. Restructure. Revisit and prepare for the next movement forward. This retrograde is is in Libra and that pings a few things for me…

Seeking balance or agreements that feel right for you in relationships. Finding, through the re-visioning or restructuring, a new sense of going ahead with your plans or relations that is not only better put together but also feels snug, correct in an emotional way. It’s as if we look back and see, “AH! That’s what was bugging me about this!” and so we change and it “fits.” Also keep in mind that Saturn is generally in retrograde 1/2 of a year, so look at it this sort of (seeming) backward moving period as part of life. It’s there 50% of the time and just par for the course, the cycle, and the season of living.

I think this Saturn (R) should be interesting as well as the President delivers his State of the Union speech. As you know the President outlines his legislative agenda but we’ve had a few bucks to the system lately. There are a lot of talking heads yammering about right now about what the President should and should not do and say. I wonder if Barak Obama will find the words that “fit” the changes that must be made. Congress serves their constituents, the President serves the people. Let’s hope they work together.

Tarot Weekly Jan 24-30, 2011

There is a pause before the change. There is a time of stillness before newness. A moment of darkness before birth.

Like any good leader you have to garner the type of mind that knows when to act and when to remain still. Leading does not require constance manning the  helm at all hours of the day, micro-managing is ANNOYING. It’s time for pow wow, not only a meeting but a gathering of strength and coming together to seek the answers that will best serve us as we come to a close on this last years big changes. Retrogrades and reverses, the World reversed for example, do not mean do not do, although they can I think they are generally there for evaluation. To curb our head strong beast and ask us to stop, look, listen.

That the Star appears, and this is in conjunction with the Saturn+Libra, I think we’re finding the perfect time for inner landscaping seeking answers, solace, and even healing, or in my case easing the spiritual passage. I have the great fortune of knowing many readers, intuitive folk (and the like) and drawing on these friendly resources last week I found a common thread of answer for my own Journey. The message of the spiritual re-birth was clear and the pathway opened before me.

From that path, and the reading, I would like to offer a few tips that may ease your passage in this period of observation, fine-tuning, and easing.

  1. Nurture your process with things of beauty, and acts of beauty. You may think of this as spiritually midwifing and seek out the healer within. Baths, massage, a special therapeutic ceremony that offers healing (The Star) can help you. Even energy work for the sake of something like love, joy, healing, or laughter, sensual giving… these are parts of the pattern of nurturing.
  2. Take advice. In the birthing passage it is hard to see anything else but the way out. It’s sometimes hard to feel anything but the birthing pain. These are leading you towards the new life but it is wise to seek outside perspective, especially when you are simultaneously the mother and the child. It can be confusing (I know) but a little common sense from the doctor can make a world of difference in your perspective.
  3. Expand your graces. Seek support  from your spiritual allies who are probably very involved in your changes. Give offerings. I’ve decorated my house in sweet blossoms not only to bask in the fragrance but to symbolically represent the new birth and give up the blooms to the gods and guides who watch over me.

I’m personally in the midst of this process but after I sought assistance and took the necessary steps to make right for my self and my transformation things began to right themselves. A little self-care can go a long way. I bit of insight can expand a limited insight.

Though the King of Swords is here to call action and progress, I must remind each general that they need a bath, a brush, and a cup of tea with an advisor at the end of the day. No one is capable of doing it all themselves.

Be well,

Lunar libration. see below for more descriptions

Image via Wikipedia

I’m really excited for this week. We’ve got a cosmic-trifecta, at 1:30 a.m. tomorrow morning, (Dec. 21st) a full moon and total lunar eclipse will occur on the winter solstice. The last time that happened was on December 21, 1638. Um… that’s a long time ago.

More than just the knowledge of the solar-lunar solstice and the potent energy that it caries to be honored and observed I had a tickling at the crown this morning as the sensation of the message came through. In no way do I wish to be cliché but Hope and Light and Peace were my spiritual hash-tags. It’s as if the spirit of Christmas, much talked about and portrayed in film and story is muscling in over and around the pervasive heavy vibration that has ebbed in and out the last few months; and which appeared to heighten in the last week.

If you are sensitive to the subtle flows of energy in and around us, you may have perceived this in various situations.

Well I pulled a card this week, The Star, and I think that is message enough from me but the accent cards show that our healing and inspirational skills can be applied to our life in the most effective way at this time, because the time is right.

But don’t take my word for it, let’s look at some of the buzz around the web, specifically those that focus in on the Cosmic-Trifecta this solstice.

“Tuesday, December 21 at 0:13 AM PST we shall be experiencing a Lunar Eclipse in Gemini (29º21’). What makes this a rare event is that it is occurring only a few hours before the Winter Solstice (Sun entering Capricorn at 3:39 PM PST). Eclipses are always major turning points in our lives and this one, even more so. To find out which area of your life will be the most affected, look at which astrological house it is falling into.

This eclipse points to the importance of balance and integrity. We need to infuse beauty and peace in our personal relationships. It is important that we discover -or reassess- what our common goals/dreams with our significant other are, so that passion may continue to make us soar or reawaken from its ashes. A sense of intensity and groundedness in our personal power accompanies these realizations. As we know who we are, what we want and what we have in common, nothing will stand in the way of what we can manifest as a couple.

For those who do not presently have a significant relationship, it is a time to  create your inner marriage and find completeness within yourself.  Making our inner masculine and  feminine conscious, erases the sense of lack or longing. If your desire is to join with another in relationship, from that place of mastery, peace and wholeness where you are deeply in love with yourself and your life,  it will necessarily unfold in the most beautiful of ways.

Michelle Karén M.A., D.F.Astrol.S.

And from Trumbull Patch:

Traditionally, the solstice is a time of renewal, of hope in the darkness and of celebration as the days gradually become longer.  Many cultures used to celebrate their new year at the winter solstice. Rock formations, temples and pyramids were said to have been built to show their people the exact time the solstice was taking place so they could plan their rituals and ceremonies.

It’s no coincidence that our celebrations at this time of year focus on adding light to the darkness. Trees and homes are illuminated by Christmas lights, and candles are lit on the Hannukah menorah as we find ways to make it through and out of the darkest time of the year.

There’s so much electro-magnetic energy swirling around us that feeling major “shifts” in our lives in the coming days is to be expected.

Power created by the solstice point is amplified by the full moon in the final degree of the mental sign of Gemini and is boosted by the fateful total lunar eclipse. Issues that have been working beneath the surface of our minds and hearts will soon manifest into reality.

Pay extra attention to your dreams, gut instincts, synchronicities and coincidences — all signs and signals of new insights and truths and the next steps to more happiness and fulfillment.

With all the cosmic power out there as we wind up 2010, the coming year appears to offer a no holds barred “fresh start.”

By Eugenie Diserio / Full article here.

Finally a great note on other aspects of the solstice and the eclipse, with some particularly interesting notes on the astrological components. Justin Bond posted this link on Twitter and I bookmarked it for today as there are several interesting passages in the newsletter. I can’t repaint the message, or the great details that Cathy Pagano has spelled out for us. I invite you to take a peak at what I have her and then invest a little time in reading and meditation on both the newsletter and her great blog Wisdom of Astrology.

This Solstice is important too because in 2011 the dance between Uranus (revolution) and Pluto (death & rebirth/evolution) intensifies, eventually forming seven exact squares between 2012 and 2015; these energies will continue to push us to demand personal, cultural and political reforms.   With these squares, we will be entering the first–quarter phase of the 60s conjunction of Pluto and Uranus.  Echoing the Hero’s journey, this is the phase of the cycle when we have to over-come obstacles, where our determination is tested.   You just have to look at the world news to understand that these energies are at play in the world, asking us to work with them creativity.  When Uranus finally enters Aries in March 2011, we will discover new identities for ourselves, new ways of entering into the life of the world.  This new Birth therefore, is important for us since it is our new Uranian identity that’s being born in the Light.

One way to understand what we have to do now is to entertain the possibility of making our instincts conscious by seeing them as archetypal patterns; the work is to recognize what our instincts are telling us about ourselves. Are we warriors, nurturers, inventors, artists, scientists, environmental visionaries? The Child of Light is a redeemer and savior.  S/He redeems the Dark – brings what is still dark into the light of consciousness. What talents and abilities are waiting to be recognized and born in that divine maternity bed this Winter Solstice?

The full Moon occurs just hours before the Sun enters Capricorn.  This Gemini-Sagittarius Full Moon is not only a lunar eclipse, but also a Super Moon, swinging closest to the Earth and intensifying its gravitational pull on us.  So we might get more emotional, more dreamy, more unconscious.  It also occurs at the last degree of Gemini/Sagittarius, signs which rule how we think and what we believe about life, pushing us to resolve the full energies of the two signs with wisdom and compassion.  The Eclipse is visible in Europe, in South & North America and Japan, and is total at 8:13am GMT/3:13am EST/12:13am PST.  (You’ll find more information at my astrology blog.)

Since the eclipse occurs at the last degrees of Sagittarius and Gemini, it concerns how we transform information, beliefs, and knowledge into Wisdom.  Emotions and feelings play a big part in that, and with the eclipse, we might find ourselves understanding just why we do what we do.  The more we know about what our beliefs are founded on, the easier it will be to transform what’s blocking us so we can bring about real change in our cultural attitudes and in the environmental degradation we have created.

(Later)

This eclipse also (trines) attracts energy from Neptune and Chiron’s idealistic new vision of Aquarian wholeness and equality.  When the darkness takes the place of the Light during the eclipse, we could be thrown into chaos and fear, but if we hold true to our vision of one world at peace, if weImagine as John hoped we would, we will come through the dark night with a clearer vision and a brighter hope than we’ve had in a while.  A lunar eclipse marks the end of something.  But an end is always a new beginning.

We need to tell a new story.  That’s what Winter Solstice invites us to do, especially this year with Mercury going deep into the Galactic Center. The fires of Creation await us!   Let’s imagine it together.

Wisdom of Astrology / Cathy Pagano

Personally it is important for me to say that this time, at this moment, we have a great opportunity to be who we essentially are in our truest vision of ourself. We do not have to be Oprah (whom I love) to inspire, or his Holiness the Dalai Lama to represent your heart of compassion, these are just a few of the Stars in our life. They are reflecting our greatest potential.

Believe in that potential.

Happy Moon-day. I hope this posting finds you well. If you’re in Southern California like me, please avoid the heat. It is one hell of a hot day.

Tarot Weekly

The Start, Four of Wands (R), Ace of Wands, Nine of Swords, Knight of Pentacles (R)… and Dog. *pant pant*

A few words floated around in meditation this morning, and a random morning encounter with a friend brought another, on a walking meditation you have to be aware of these things. The words were: Sophia and Kismet

Sophia being the divine feminine spirit, wisdom, and awakening to greater love… The energy of creation at the level of the heart, or crown. Kismet, or the will of Shai, Gods will but I get the sneaking suspicion that Kismet is more related to Ma’at, or she who moves the heavens, the stars, and the forces of The Universe.

I’m thinking that this week we are better served to seek the answer outside of our view. Do not draw on our personal well of knowledge, seek new vision first. To be open to enlightenment about our ideas about healing, resolution, and well our overall well-being.

We may want a positive experience, but it may not seem so uplifting at the moment. The Star (below) does not herald instant results.

The Star

The Star returns to us after some time to us and I feel that this is in perfect timing with the challenges that the Chariot and other astrological obstacles of late. (See the Tarot Weekly thread).

In my mind it’s a bit like someone who is held in a room. Four walls, carvings etched there, reliefs of various events that he or she is addressing. The stones have been solid, the issues writ, the response the same, and we do not pass out of the room. Suddenly the stonework becomes transparent and for an instant we see beyond it, our hands pass through the stone like clouds, the challenges of reality lift to the mental level, the mind can address them in abstract, our situation changes, we are not bound the room of stones.

Again, The Star does herald victory, but it’s not immediate, it’s the knowledge that a soul-felt success is coming. Maybe because in this we can see beyond the immediate and into the long-term, or at least the opportunity to pierce the present perspective.

Supporting Cards

Four of Wands (R) represents the limits of our view (of our situation). The house is on its head and we think that this is the way that we live. Relax it up, see where we need to allow for some breathing room and expand our minds with that breath.

I relax my body. I relax my mind. I relax my emotions. I relax my soul. Now, what do you see? Check in with you and find out.

Ace of Wands illuminates the thrust of passion, with respects to the Four of Wands (R), I believe it may show that the drive may be misdirected and thus the need for the break to collect one self. The energy is there for a reason, it is passion without purpose yet. Calm, collect, review, then see where you need place your energy. You may very well find a better way more in line with your real creative / innovative self.

Nine of Swords is a reminder to not let the doubts keep you up at night. This is the little demon that’s keeping you from the expanded place where you have the heaven’s view. The one that kept you in walls, the little beast that’s been niggling at you to fear, worry, mentally struggle. It’s in direct opposition to the message of the star. Dreams could be very revealing.

The Knight of Pentacles (R) then is the Knight of our fears. This could also be representative of someone who is adding to, or convincing you of the worried state of mind.

Connect to our angels, guides, gods, higher power, spirits, of inspiration. Soften (Sophia) to their message. See the bigger picture (Kismet) and find what these broader movements mean to you and your current state of internal affairs.

Connect to sustaining support systems, your vital affairs such as work, home, income, and see if they are being handled with care, planning, responsibility, and love.

(Careful of the guy that says there is nothing to worry about and that they have everything under control… Your concern could actually be telling you something. He’s probably fooling you).

Animal Ally

Dog (R). Love. Loyalty. Guardian. Protection. Gatekeeper in many traditions.

The Fool is followed by the dog, who is that little dog down there at his foot, yapping at the seeker? Is the pooch there to guard against the fall? Guardians of gateways into mystery, the dog is allowing us to see through the crack in the universe at this time. He is leading us to insight so his power can be used for good or ill. The mind is the director of the vision, if we’re hell-bent of fear, doubt, narrowed ideas, worry, then the ever-loyal dog will illuminate our truths through these denser paths.

*UPDATE: Just realized it’s National Dog Week. How appropriate.*

From the Aeclectic Tarot

“On the bleak landscape where the Tower stood, the Fool sits, empty, despairing. He hoped to find himself on this spiritual journey, but now he feels he’s lost everything, even himself. Sitting on the cold stones, he gazes up at the night sky wondering what’s left. And that is when he notices, nearby, a beautiful girl with two water urns. As he watches, she kneels by a pool of water illuminated with reflected starlight. She empties the urns, one into the pool, one onto the thirsty ground.

“What are you doing,” he asks her. She looks up at him, her eyes twinkling like stars. “I am refilling this pool, so that those who are thirsty may drink, and I am also watering the earth so that, come spring, the seeds will grow,” she tells him. And then she adds, “Come. Drink.” The Fool comes to kneel with her by the pool and drink. The water tastes wonderful, like liquid starlight. “I can see you are sad,” the girl continues, “and I know why. But you must remember that you have not lost all. Knowledge, possibilities, and hope, you still have all of these. Like stars, they can lead you to a new future.” Even as she says this, she began to fade away, like dew, vanishing. All that remains is a gleam that was at the center of her forehead. This rises up and up, until it settles in the night sky as a shining star. “Follow your star,” the woman’s voice seems to sing from that light, “and have hope.” The Fool takes in a breath and rises. It is a dark night, a desolate land. But for the first time, he has a guiding light to show him the way. Distant as it is, it heals his heart, and restores his faith.”

I hope this finds you well.

Good morning.

Tarot Weekly: Monday, June 28th – Sunday, July 4th, 2010

Before I begin the Tarot Weeklies I wanted to express a few things about the nature of the work, and the purpose (vision). We know that there are different levels of energy, magick, and expression. Some are more spiritual and abstract, some more practical and directly influence the work we do here in this world. There are strengths and weaknesses in those workings, as we’ve seen in various forms there are energies that are stronger in the physical, affecting out blood and bone. These energies have little influence over the organizing intelligences of the lighter energy fields. That said these “lighter energies” (spiritual energies) gather a greater intelligence and can affect powerful organization on the denser energy of the body, but unless they can convince these “denser energies” to cooperate with the changes we wish to see (like our health for example), not much of what we want occurs.

I think one system that shows a perfect example of how the physical and spiritual energies interact, is Reiki. The power of Reiki (Lighter Energy) isn’t in it’s ability to heal, but to influence and let the body (denser energy) which has the greatest power to mend but needs an organizing influence to do so. Reiki moves in from subtle levels and through hands, or distance work, the energy begins to work on the denser energies of the physical and help us to shift back into a natural and healthy state of being. The Reiki cannot carry out healing, correcting the body’s health, without the bodies innate ability to regenerate and fight off illness. Regardless if the body in a state of shock, pain, illness, if it cannot organize the energies of the organism, it cannot create the healthy change that it needs.

This is where Reiki can be essential in a healing process if the body is already healing it can allow the natural intelligence with the directive and vitality that it needs. If conditions are more severe the Reiki will help shift that innate mind back in the right direction.

Why is this important for the weekly Tarot reading?

Naturally this *waves hands around my blog space* is all from my perspective, but it looks to me that the world is in a place, as a body organism, that is in need of corrective healing energy. By the world I mean, us and those that live in it. The energy we as a species generates through our thoughts, works, actions, and words. We have tremendous power as a people (generally speaking) but we’re “all over the place”… Which I suppose is our way. We fight, we love. We create, we destroy. We conserve, we burn up energy like it will always be available to us. We do these things because we can, or sometimes because we believe that something has a greater priority either by fearing it or championing it, and acting from that place. And the world keeps turning…

I believe that our purpose here on this planet is not only to live in harmony with it, naturally, but also as human beings we have the power to help each other by shifting our consciousness, so that regardless of our practice we can learn to acknowledge the tremendous power we actually have and our responsibility to all our relations.

That’s the path I follow. I shift my consciousness to the here-now while accessing the lighter energies, spiritual influences, to create the shift in the world around me. I don’t mean like shifting the war in Iraq, although enough of us probably could, I mean creating change in the relationships around me. The relationships we carry with each other, friends, family, associates. Our relationship with food, our environment, plants, animals, and nature. Our relationship with our self.

These three paths of relating are essential for survivability. Daily, they are the relations that we interact with (on some level). The way that we interact with our relationships is how we can gauge the focus of our consciousness. Knowing our focus we can then plumb the depths of our watery nature and understand the emotional vibration we are sending out into the world.

You, yes you, like me, are responsible for your own energy, your own expression of that vibe you are sending out; and we can begin to change it by focusing on how we relate to others. This is telling of the type of influence we are projecting into the world. Fearful? Negative? Mean? Are we loving? Kind? Creative? Insightful?

Do our bodies, vehicles for our All, traveling through the world leave a path of blind and senseless destruction? Chaos? Beauty? Love? Do people fear us or engender us with kindness, helpfulness, friendship, and companionship?

This weeks energies are calling to us and focusing on tuning the mind into two frequencies, both dense and light, to see our own energy and explore the actions and emotional frequencies we are transmitting to others around us. We can explore this through getting centered and working the spiritual paths, our energetic and emotional body, and also by looking at the world around us, right near our hearts, head, and body to see how our relations respond to us.

Although there is an element of thinking involved in this observation your seat of power is really your emotional nature. This seat tells us two things, when we sit down in it and get comfortable. How we interact emotionally with the world and if we rule, or are ruled-by, our emotions. It also tells us what vibratory level we are carrying into the world. Our emotional self is like a vessel of water and it’s rate of vibration is indicative of what we are giving to the world. This is our temper or tone. How you feel is what you vibrate. Your vibration is the vehicle for all that you send. All that we do is a gift into creation, and it returns to you. The longer you generate your emotional energy the more you sustain the vibration you are creating. Changing the tone of that vibration can change the entire transmission going out of us and into the world, and this returns, affirming that shift in consciousness.

This shift affects the world around us as well. The lighter frequencies go out into (by being grounded) the physical world (denser frequencies) through our changed behavior. This doesn’t mean that we suddenly take on different morals or become different people, essentially we are the same person once we know who that being is beneath all the chatter. It is an opportunity to adjust our frequencies personally so that we can better communicate our joys, passions, loves, desires, and will for a better world into the world around us.

There is a great exercise in Awakening to Shamanism, the Path of Direct Revelation. Transfiguration.

“This Transformation of the physical being into light is seen everywhere as a spiritual rebirth in which the visionary becomes a luminous being who has access to the spirits and spiritual realms.”

EXERCISE: TRANSFIGURATION

Sandra Ingerman writes,

“To experience this divine state of your own immortal light, it is good to do some preparation. It can be experienced in a myriad of ways. According to Hank, many discover that it is like a tightly woven basket or cloud composed of lines or light that create an elongated, orb-like luminous field. For some it is the bright darkness of the void. Some will see this field visually; others simply sense utter peace and tranquility in which they often feel the light expand within themselves or perceive it behind their closed eyelids.”

The later, after you have readied yourself for journey work…

“It is important to note that in this experience you are not journeying outside of yourself into another world. You are actually traveling within to experience your inner light so that it can shine through you. Many people actually perceive it as a luminous visual phenomenon against the darkened field of their closed eyes.

You might begin the journey by repeating the following intention: “Thank you for taking from me that which keeps me separate from my spiritual light, my divine perfection, the source, and the state of oneness.”

(SCOTT: IMO you should feel free to substitute these words with whatever sort of intention that best suites your personal magickal / spiritual path).

“This intention at the journey’s onset tells your helping spirits and the universe that you want to transform the form of your body and the thoughts that fil your mind. This, in turn, will bring you into a state of oneness with your source, your personal creator, your god-self, and beyond that with the god or the goddess, the power of the universe, or whatever you wish to call the source of all things.

As you repeat your intention you wil find that your helping spirits may hep you create a way for your body and mind to dissolve so that you may begin to experience yourself as pure spiritual light. Keep breathing and experience this wonderful state. Soon you might feel a change in the change in the vibration of your body. You can stay in this state for the length of the drumming, or for anywhere from fifteen to thirty minutes while you are listening to the music (See CD). This is enough time to truly give you the experience of transfiguration.

When we keep up our transfiguration work and have an experience of our inner light, we also start to find our eyes shining-reflecting that we have touched into the place of inner joy and inner wealth as the indigenous shamans do. In this way we bring more light into our own lives and the world.”

You can practice this exercise or some other exercise that is more to your own tastes, or you can simply keep your awareness centered in the emotional body. Pay attention to the message of the vibration, and note how/when/if you can and should shift it to help create the beneficial, natural, healthy changes in our relationships that support our greater well-being.

Your cards for this weeks meditation have been: The Star. The Queen of Cups. Three of Pentacles.
