While there is a healthy dose of skepticism in this article, and a comment of “absurd” from a doctor, their clinic study, and patient response gives Reiki a thumbs up.

My original Reiki teachers, and friends, established a free clinic of complimentary / alternative therapies in the 80’s through the 90’s and eventually had an out-patient clinic at hospital in SF, thanks to the welcome reception by Kaiser.  They offered Reiki, among other things, as a complimentary therapy for the recovering.

I can still remember Claudia retelling her meeting with the board of directors and administering Reiki to doctors. Anyway… on to the article.

Article Excerpt: Reiki Used for Cancer Patience – WSJ.com

Reiki, a therapy in which hands are placed lightly on the body or just above it, is increasingly being used to reduce cancer-related fatigue, anxiety, nausea and pain. Several studies suggest a benefit to patients, but scientists say more large, rigorous studies are needed.

Cancer patients—due to the disease and to side effects of chemotherapy—often suffer from severe mental and physical fatigue, doctors say. Anxiety, nausea and pain are also common. In recent years, many cancer centers have been offering Reiki, a form of healing which originated in Japan in the early 1900s, according to scientific literature. In a session of Reiki, hands are placed lightly on the body. Each spot is treated for three minutes or longer and sometimes therapists place their hands just above the body without touching, says Donah Drewett, a Fairlee, Vt.-based Reiki therapist who works at Norris Cotton Cancer Center in Lebanon, N.H.

Don’t forget that Doctor Oz played a supporting role on his show, The Doctor Oz Show.” You can catch that segment on Youtube, or via my Reiki page, here. (Scroll to the bottom, press play).

In almost 20 years of Reiki work I’ve seen a lot. Dramatic recovery’s, long term treatments, and heard stories of assisting those in passage from this life. I’ve used Reiki to compliment healing, release, and lift emotional states of being, in art, cooking, and in conversation.

For me, it is a living part of my life. I’m always glad to see it in the news in such a positive light.

I appreciate your comments, keep them coming!

Big love.

If you are like me it’s almost if no amount of shielding will filter out seasonal shifts or big events like the recent earthquake in Japan. I know. I know, the media can blow anything up and out to ever heightening levels of hype, gloom, and doom but the energy I am really speaking about is the back lash of sorrow, suffering, and pain that comes from such a disaster.

This doesn’t make for good spiritual or energetic work.

I am reminded this morning that someone like myself, a healer among other things, should take the time to work out these energies from my system and to do my part in easing the suffering. I believe we can and do have an effect on the global consciousness by shifting our own.

This week we do not have a “Tarot Weekly,” as is the norm because I’ve been told that the greater path is in helping to shift some of this energy released into the world. Saturday I posted to the Journey Lifencompass fan page on Facebook about an encounter on the street. Someone, who I know around downtown LA was walking by just as I stepped out of the office at the lofts. I had woke at 3:50 am that day and could not seem to clear myself from Friday’s earthquake and Tsunami, imagining, feeling, wondering about all of those people, and their lives. I stepped out the door as this man I know walked by and he said, in short, “You are a  Light Worker.”

I wrote that day, “No accidents. 12 million people in a city and I walk out the door of the El Dorado Lofts to bump into a man who tells me I am a light worker, that we raise our consciousness to a higher vibration. Each of us that does, raises it a little for everyone else. *warm* love* lifted. The universe is reciprocal. ;)”

Then

“levels of consciousness are: shame, guilt, apathy, grief, fear, desire, anger, pride, courage, neutrality, willingness, acceptance, reason, love, joy, peace, enlightenment.”

I am reminded of my lovely friend  Jamie, and a conversation we had about the events just after the earthquake in Haiti, and how these types of disasters release so much into the psychic mind of the global consciousness. How it is up to us to bring the lost through the pain to release. The role of the Witch, the walker between worlds, the priest or priests. In an age of Aquarian enlightenment potential, that means all of us as the One of the Age of Pisces moves into the Many of the Collective Age of Aquarius.

So… here are my thoughts and some of the guidance I have been given that has worked for me in this time.

Send healing, and send love, in addition to whatever monetary support you can. Our consciousness needs the right vehicle for the sending so what I look for is the right vibration / frame of mind that suits the clearest purpose. My healing practice allows for me to enter a clear state where the energy passes through me. Seeking a place where you are clear is important. We do not want to sit within the fear, anger, or denser emotional vehicles when communicating our prayers, and healing.

This empowers the pain by reinforcing it.

The Tarot Weekly last week guided us to seek solace in our center.

In Strength, this week, I would like to see you finding sustenance in yoursource(s) through activities that bring you to the place where that feeling, the vibration, of your solace is resonating like a song, in every part of your body. Forget the astrology, the details, the minutia and immerse in that at the start of the week.

Let that inner feeling be a wind to your sails, let them be full as you travel forward through the next seven days.

That is the sweet spot for any intention work on healing or aid this week. From that place of retreat that leads us to our center, our magickal space, we work in the world on these issues.

Observe your mental state while working with others, as you move through the world. We are healers! We don’t want to get caught up in emotional dramas caused by stresses that many of the people around us are not aware of. Many people often react completely unconsciously and channel the stresses of their life and the world through them and into the people around them. They are still in the experience of learning at this level.

When I move into my day I try to be transparent to this energy. As my encounter on Saturday reminded me, some of the newer practices I am learning through the Awaken Your Light Body Course, which really affirmed the Hermetic Principles, specifically the Principles of Mentalism, Rhythm, and the Principle of Cause and Effect. (Full copy here at The Kybalion).

My practice in short is to resonate with the area that needs healing or more light, aid, or love. You can use your own distance healing practice. We do not connect to it, we become aware of it, as we are aware of our own self and we begin in that place to shift the energy to a lighter vibration.

Lastly, be aware of how much information you are taking in about events that are causing suffering. Even if the news is playing in the background your mind is still taking it in. This is the easiest way I am inundated with the energy. Media communicates the energy to bigger and bigger sensations. Our eyes and ears can be overwhelmed from all the news, conversations, blogs…

Coming from the place of what we can do. Turning off the conversation, the television, and walking away from the news networks online that trumpet a 24 hour channel of “The Disaster” can help!

We all have different ways of handling the situations in our life, great or small. This is one way, my way, that I highlight for you.

Protect yourself.

If you would like more information on being transparent, education on how to shift your own energy, or just need a consultation on other matters, please contact me to schedule an appointment. You can send me an email on my contact page, here).

Be well,

Hello. Hello!

Yes I finally did it, I opened the doors to Lifencompass / my home and started a healing share. I began by calling it a Reiki Share but I feel that there are just too many great healing modalities that work well together to limit it to Reiki alone. Besides the work “reiki” is just to limiting lately. There is so much more to it than the “#hashtag” “#Reiki” has become. Today, with a few healers I have worked with over the years, we draw together a start, a circle of healing in Downtown LA. And in the case of anyone thinking, Um why didn’t you call me? I started with students and healers I have established a working relationship with, and those that arrived become what I hope is the seed.

I’m excited!

The energy of the house, that sits within a little healing grid, has changed already and a lot has come in and through in preparation. I am REALLY happy with this. My life, my changes, and my path feel… on point.

So, in the future I’m looking at expanding the circle and opening up the healing practice again, and, and, and, moving forward in this new direction. It’s time. I’m glad you have walked along with me. Anticipate new things, maybe like once a month. Expect invitations.

For updates you can add me as a friend on Facebook:

I’m reading through a new book called The Energy Cure (below) and enjoying the story of William Bengston’s venture into the world of Energy Healing. A very comfortable topic for myself.

Though I have a long history of Reiki, I had previous experience from childhood, and even healing through magickal methods, all of which I bring together now with an ever expanding experience. I believe in these types of recovery’s, these “cures” because people experience them. They happen. I’ve seen it in family, and friends.

The author makes a statement that he came from a skeptical point of view, and I must admit that type of introduction usually pings the “skeptic” in me. Whenever I see it I have to fight my knee jerk reaction that says, your telling me you’re a skeptic so that the evidence will be more believable.

I didn’t feel that once I began to read the book because I recognized experience that I understood.

Regardless of how you feel about these sorts of things, you may enjoy the read, the photographs of the mice both sick and cured and the 35  year journey of William Bengston.

The power of the human being is an amazing thing, and we are connected to many beautiful and unseen forces that aid us. That is my experience.

Synopsis:  Can hands-on healing can cure cancer? Skeptics say no. One man’s research — in 10 controlled, university experiments with cancer-injected mice — shows that it does. This is a self-proclaimed skeptical scientist’s story.

Scroll down for facts & research history.

Video

Bill Bengston tells us how he began a lifelong exploration of the validity of hands-on healing—and his plans to remain a skeptic despite finding astonishing results through three decades of clinical studies.

Facts

  • Over the past 35 years, Bengston has successfully treated many types of cancer—bone, pancreatic, breast, brain, rectal, lymphatic, stomach, leukemia—as well as other diseases, all using a hands-on technique that is painless, noninvasive, and has no unpleasant side effects.
  • To Bengston’s knowledge, no person he has healed ever experienced a recurrence.
  • The effectiveness of Bengston’s hands-on treatment has now been proven in 10 controlled animal-experiments, conducted in 5 university medical and biological laboratories by trained, skeptical researchers.
  • Bengston’s treatment is not faith based. Neither patient nor practitioner is expected to believe in anything, including the process itself, for it to be effective.
  • Bengston does not consider hands-on healing to be a replacement for traditional Western medicine.
  • Bengston is a sociology professor at St. Joseph’s College in New York.
  • Bengston did not begin by testing mice in a lab, producing a theory that now awaits human application. He went into the lab to verify and gain insight into a procedure that he had already successfully used to cure many people of a variety of medical problems, especially cancer.

Summary of Bengston’s Research History

  • Bengston’s first experiment was conducted with mice in 1975 in the biology department at Queens College of the City University of New York.
  • Mice bred for research were injected with a particularly lethal strain of mammary cancer that had always resulted in 100 percent fatality within 14 to 27 days. Through hands-on healing, 100 percent of the mice survived the disease to become cancer free and to live a normal two-year life span!
  • This experiment was replicated once more at Queens College with the same 100 percent success. Eight other replications, with minor variations, at four other biological and medical laboratories produced comparable results.
  • Just as amazing, mice that were re-injected with cancer cells did not get cancer, suggesting they had developed an immunity.
  • Recently, Bengston has been undergoing functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRIs, which are multilevel scans more detailed than CAT scans) and electroencephalographs (EEGs, which measure the brain’s electrical activity) while in healing mode.
  • Bengston’s published articles: www.bengstonresearch.com/scientific-articles/
  • Most recently: “Breakthrough: Clues to Healing with Intention.” Edge Science, no.2, January/March 2010, p.5-9.www.scientificexploration.org/edgescience/

What People Are Saying

“In both my professional and personal lives, I have witnessed what Dr. William Bengston shares about energy medicine, and so I can accept and believe what he presents in The Energy Cure. Human beings have enormous healing potential built into them, and they, like all forms of life, can survive a great variety of illnesses—without traditional medical intervention. ”

—Bernie Siegel, MD author of Faith, Hope & Healing and Help Me to Heal

“Very infrequently, a scientist comes along whose work leads to a quantum change in the quality and significance of research in some field. Such a scientist is William Bengston, who is responsible for such a change in the recondite field of anomalous healing. His results are so extraordinary as to eclipse all previous work in that field. Bengston would be a prime candidate for a Nobel Prize in Alternative Medicine, if such an award existed.”

—Peter Sturrock, emeritus professor of applied physics at Stanford University

“Great advances in science and medicine often occur at the edge of knowledge, where things don’t fit in. Often the misfits are dismissed by conventional thinkers without a hearing.  Where William Bengston’s work is concerned, this would be a profound mistake, because many precise scientific studies now confirm that healers and healing are real. Somewhere along the line, physicians forgot how to heal, and ‘healing’ became an embarrassment. Bengston is a harbinger of a marvelous trend: the return of healing to medicine.”

—Larry Dossey, MD, author of Healing Words

“I believe that energy healing’s time will come in the next ten years and that William Bengston’s work will be seen as a milestone in that process. We’re already experiencing a meltdown of faith in materialistic systems, and that includes the grip of the profit-driven pharmaceutical industry on medical practice.”

—Dr. Edward Mann, Canadian sociologist and energy healing historian

“Bill Bengston is a criminologist, sociologist, statistician, college professor, cancer researcher, energy healer. An expert in all these fields! I have been in Bill’s orbit observing him engage others in rich dialogue. The consistent effect of his thesis of life challenges even brilliant minds to rethink their foundational assumptions. Bill’s mesmerizing memoir reads like a novel.”

—Francesca McCartney, doctor of energy medicine, founder and president of Energy Medicine University, author of Body of Health:The New Science of Intuition Medicine®

“Professor William Bengston is shaking the foundations of medical research. What is at stake is the entire clinical trial process. In carefully carried-out experiments Professor Bengston showed dramatic healing of cancer tumors in mice using energy medicine. By tracing the path of healing intention, he has found that it follows surprising turns and is not easy to control. The simple model of a controlled study does not work in medicine. Bengston’s story is one of breakthrough discoveries and a fascinating tale that is not yet complete.”

—Garret Moddel, professor of electrical engineering, Department of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering, University of Colorado.

“Bill Bengston has all the creds and talent to make it big-time in mainstream academia, but he also has the guts to stick to what he sees and knows, and tell us about it, even if it is way out of the box. Here we have his very exciting adventures in healing, with decidedly anomalous results. It is to Bill’s great credit that he tells it like it is, and sustains the contact with this mind-bending material so that it is neither distorted, ignored, or blown out of proportion. Really excellent work!”

—Richard A. Blasband, MD, formerly faculty member of Yale Medical School

“Bengston’s research on the healing of cancer in mice is an eye-opener, both for its direct implications and for what it says about the difficulty of gaining acceptance for unconventional results, no matter how well documented. His methodology is clear, his results are unambiguous, and several experiments strongly suggest that his healing technique is teachable. Whether you’re a healer, a doctor, a biologist, or simply an interested citizen, you owe it to yourself to find out what Bill has been learning over the last two decades.”

—York Dobyns, physicist, Princeton University

Well here we are at the end of twenty ten.

We’re not just rolling into a New Year, but a New Decade. We’ve spend the day cleaning house, organizing, setting tone and sense so that tomorrow when we rise, there is a newness to things. I even made a special batch of house spritz consisting of a few blends of essential oils: Abundance, Acceptance, Believe, and Theives.

Smells yum.

I hope your year was as colorful as mine and that you have a safe, super awesome New Year Celebration, whatever you are doing. One little thing I like to watch for is the first words spoken in a new year. I think that’s why we say “Happy New Year!” What will your first words be? What will your attitude be? What are you planning on doing tonight? Set the tone for the new year today, make it as close to what you would like to see made manifest in your life as possible. 🙂

I’ll see you next year.

Bright blessings.

Yes, like many of you I’m sick. I’m only sitting here at my desk at the moment because I’ve grudgingly taken a 1/2 dose of a “daytime” flu medication. My ill luck started with a hazy x-mas  holiday and a popped blood vessel in my nose. One is bigger than the other and it dramatic weather changes it tends to get bothered. Well, it did. That became a bloody drip that kept me up all night. Roll that into a cold-like symptom this morning and afternoon and here I am, writing to you.

Bleck!

I have pasd Reiki, often for hours at a time when I lay in bed, as it takes no effort to lay hands and enter a meditative state. I’d like to think this has kept me from the worst of whatever hit me but I know tonight I’m going to go down for the healing count and really work on whatever it is that is working on me. 🙂

I’ve cancelled my appointments and any blogging, except maybe to moan and groan, until I’m on the upward swing and able to be clear again to read, cast cards, make art, etc.

Yada. Yada. Yada. I’m going back to being lethargic.

Welcome back to Essentials.

In a continuing investigation we’re delving into the components and properties of Young Living (YL) Essential Oils, specifically their formulated blends. Designed with many purposes like emotional healing, attracting abundance, and lifting our vibrational frequencies, to name a few, we find that YL oils are far from simple air fresheners, and take aromatherapy to a new level of healing and use.

I also had some thoughts on the use of herbs magickally versus aromatherapeutically. Is there a difference? Does a plant essence create a different effect when used in Aromatherapy, versus traditional magickal purposes? There are, in some instances, many uses and folklore on herbs that are similar.  The primary focus of YL essential oils is aromatherapeutic. There does seem to be large shared purposes in both magickal practice and aromatherapy.

Which brings us to these posts, welcome to the Essentials.

We’re going to go through the blends first, they contain various essential oils, blended for a purpose. If I like the process, and IF it turns out that people enjoy the comparison, then I may dig into the single blends.

We continue our exploration with Acceptance.

Acceptance

Lately it seems that everything has become a process or resonance, for me the world is an emotionally and energetically tactile place if you feel it, if you accept what it is. Over the past few years of study this has sometimes proved difficult to digest. Parts  of me held on to… I don’t know, numbness, or a lack of “complete vision.” I don’t feel I was actually seeing the world even tho I was looking at things. Make sense?

Now it is as if most things I connect with can be accessed like a library, if I really take the time to resonate with it, the being of people, places, and things.

Acceptance is one of the many doorways. I want to say keys but it is more than a lock turning mechanism, it is part of the living experience. Do I have the words to justify the experience? I believe that this statement is true because it is practical when applied, and so it works, so whether I have the vocab or not it’s functional and in my book, “If it works, then it’s good.”

There is a concept that relates to this and I found it along the way, during the Journey, and that overwhelmingly was another realization that who I thought I was as an Individual, was in fact a part of a larger organism of life. In Buddhism this is called Anatman (Sanskrit), Anatta (Pali).

Arising from this, or in some Qabalistic thinking that we realize that these concepts do not rise one of out of the other but simultaneously existing and manifesting in the larger reality; What I am speaking of is our connection to all things: Oneness. It is the real blossom of compassion, perfect love and trust, because our acceptance, our door through to the sensual world brings about the openness to resonate and experience the great ‘self’ that is all that we experience, encounter, touch, taste, and smell, feel and know. What we will know. What we have known.

What does this have to do with an an essential oil? How can this benefit us with the concept of Acceptance? Through resonance and attunement.

With almost all things, including EO’s, I believe in working with the spirit or vibration first. Getting deep with myself and extending my senses into the essence, asking that it work for the betterment of my life, and through that life around me, and with the intent I wish to the essential oil for, in this case: Acceptance which would be my seed thought. This sets the stage for the working, naturally you should have already decided what you were attempting to accomplish in the degree that it most comfortable for you now.

Setting intentions, crafting affirmations, meditation, and prayer to focus yourself on your goal and inner-wisdom are all good tools. From there you can begin to explore the concept of acceptance through scent, touch, feeling and exploration using the essential oil as a catalyst -and a nicely scented on at that- to create the changes that are for your greater good.

Pushan Mudra Give and Take Gesture. By Phylameana lila Desy, About.com Guide

Mudra’s are a way to utilize our mind body connection, like the Witches Trigger, they can induce a state of mind that encapsulates the idea we are cultivating. Combined with breathing, focused meditation, and regular use Pushan can help us cultivate acceptance through contemplation of the give and take of life, and our self.

We can start with an oil, or many things but the important thing to remember is that tho we work witha method, the method is not the  meaning, that is found by our seeking self, individually. No oil, object, or person (IMO) can give you the answer, it is only found in the experience of living. Living is found in a lifetime and the things along the way, when we are attuned to our deeper self, become significant when we understand our connection to them, to us, that wholeness that is the entire being.

(Acceptance) Stimulate the mind, compelling it to open and accept new things in life, allowing one to reach a higher  potential. It also helps to overcome procrastination and denial.

(Acceptance™ stimulates the mind with oils specially blended to promote feelings of accepting ourselves and others, regardless of perceived barriers).

Ingredients

Rosewood, almond oil base, geranium, frankincense, blue tansy, sandalwood and neroli.

Neroli (orange blossom) Thought to heal the mind, body, and spirit in ancient times. Neroli both strengthens and stabilizes the emotions and uplifts and inspires feelings of hopelessness, promoting confidence, courage, joy, peace, and sensuality.

Related to Neptune, fertility, love, with religious uses (historically), favored of Apollo, Gaea, and Hera. Paul Beyerl notes that the oranges have been associated with modern quests, used to strengthen the seeker or to reward the victorious. Blossoms can be used in weddings, having the magick of romance, and fertility. (Comp. Herbal Magick, Pg. 282)

In a sense the Neroli oil can be thought to bring the emotional body into a stable place.

From our post on Abundance:

Orange (Citrus sinensis) essential oil has a rich, fruity scent that lifts the spirit while providing a calming influence on the body. Orange brings peace and happiness to the mind.

In addition to their fertility property, oranges have been used for luck, divination, and you guessed it, money. The list of folklore and uses of orange could probably fill a library considering they found all over the world.

Sandalwood (Santalum album) has a rich, sweet, warm, and woody aroma that is sensual and romantic. Used traditionally as incense in religious ceremonies and for meditation, it is uplifting and relaxing. It is valued in skin care for its moisturizing and normalizing properties.

According to the Essential Oils Desk Reference, the fragrant influence of sandalwood enhance peace (sleep, relaxation). It stimulates the pineal gland and limbic system of the brain, the center of the emotions.

Blue Tansy (Tanacetum annuum), helps cleanse the liver and lymphatic system helping to overcome anger and negative emotions. Promotes a feeling of self-control. (E.O. Desk Reference, Pg. 94).

There are notes for older magickal uses in several tomes, including Tansy-associated funeral rites, asperging, and women’s mystery  rituals, celebrating womanhood. Several sources indicate that Tansy can be used in offensive magick, repelling insects, powers, and energies.

Could it be that Tansy is part of the mixture to “banish” or exorcise negative emotions.

Rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora), is said to be empowering and emotionally stabilizing and used in a variety of blends like Acceptance, Joy, Harmony, and White Angelica. Similar to Ho Wood it offers a scent that brings about these emotional triggers.

Thought to boost the immune system and used in other mixtures to alleviate headache, and pain as an amplifier.

Rosewood connected to the heart, and love magick, (being South American), there is a relation to love but also boundaries, in it’s association with Venus and Saturn. I add tidbit because we’re talking about an essential oil that is to “open us to new things” and Saturn, “the great restrictor” finds a useful influence in this particular EO. Opening boundaries.

Rose Geranium.

Image via Wikipedia

Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) relates to memory and the nervous system, specifically in the release of tension and negative emotional memories. It’s fosters a sense of peace, well-being, and hope. (Aromatherapy). It’s anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antitumoral, to name a few. The Healthy Haven notes a use in Aphrodisiacs.

It is a rose scented herb, corresponding to the feminine, related to water, and the planet venus. Tho the color of the flower (parts) can be used for other purposes, there is a strong love association.

Frankincense (Boswellia carteri) has a sweet, warm, balsamic aroma that is stimulating and elevating to the mind. Useful for visualizing, improving one’s spiritual connection, and centering, it has comforting properties that help focus the mind and overcome stress and despair. Frankincense is considered the holy anointing oil in the Middle East, where it has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years.

Seems to be another uplifting spiritual herb used to stimulate the mind and energize the energetic field. Frankincense and Myrrh have long been used together and as base for other incense.

Beyerl writes that Frankincense is associated with the Sun and used, as is Myrrh, with consecration, and in ceremony and ritual. There are other uses such as protection and purification, ritual working for “success” if the practitioner is balanced  in the spiritual and daily life.”

********

Having a cleansing quality on the Astral Self, or energetic body, used in combination with the other oils I’m thinking we might view the blend(Acceptance), as having multiple uses, but predominantly it could be used in healing emotional trauma through accepting what has happened, in relating with “difficult” people (family, relationships, etc), and broadening our mind to explore facets of our life that could be beneficial to our growth; places where we have closed doors on opportunity, love, growth, and forgiveness.

Application

Naturally Aromatherapy creates benefits through our sense of smell, stimulating our mind-body, but there are other methods of applying essential oils to ourself, and for magickal/energetic purposes.

For aromatic use. Diffuse or apply over the heart, on the wrists, behind the ears, on the neck and on the face.

Possible skin sensitivity. If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Dilution not required; suitable for all but the most sensitive skin. Generally safe for children over 2 years of age.

In the past I’ve used other essential oils in our home, in the office, and around the halls of where we live. Spraying the essential oil around, mixing (roughly) about 6-10 drops of EO to a large spray bottle and generously spreading it around the area in the mix, can be a great immediate shift in the energy.

For example. Let’s say you were going to be doing a meditation or hands on healing for yourself or client. You could use Acceptance, along with other essential oils, to set the tone of the working. Water being related to healing, essential oils having a Yesod connection (and therefore the psychic/energetic framework connection), is an immediate and practical working tool that can be used to infuse the air with a vibration for opening to the work being done… especially when blocks are encountered.

I’ve used essential oils like this in the past to amplify a Reiki Attunement, working with Peace & Calming, Three Wise Men, and White Angelica to center, open up the spiritual paths, and strengthen the aura and attunment as it was passed. For the record it was probably one of the most intense attunements I’ve ever passed. You can read about that attunement here at Lifencompass: Easing Spiritual Blocks with Aromatherapy.

Again this is not an air freshener, and though the scent can stay in the air for hours I feel that it is more effective to wear the oil itself and/or diffusing the blend in the air with a proper essential oil diffuser (non-burning).

You can also use Acceptance in other ways such as in a small vial within a pouch or bag you have designed to open you to new ways of relating, new experiences for personal growth, or even in relationships that have become stagnant, challenging, or affairs where you are seeking to accept others. You can anoint candles for spell or ritual, baths, or just diffuse the oil into the air of your home.

A cost saving  method is to mix it with a base oil, lotion, or body spray that you prefer, these are highly-concentrated blends and a little does go a long way.

*Please read instructions carefully when using ANY essential oil.

I found this while crawling around on the web. I’ve been reading for hours so forgive my short commentary, at the moment.

A neat article on the power of essential oils, Thyme, and Cinnamon.

((ARTICLE EXCERPT))

Professor Yiannis Samaras and Dr Effimia Eriotou, from the Technological Educational Institute of Ionian Islands, in Greece, who led the research, tested the antimicrobial activity of eight plant essential oils. They found that thyme essential oil was the most effective and was able to almost completely eliminate bacteria within 60 minutes.

The essential oils of thyme and cinnamon were found to be particularly efficient antibacterial agents against a range of Staphylococcus species. Strains of these bacteria are common inhabitants of the skin and some may cause infection in immunocompromised individuals. Drug-resistant strains, such as meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) are extremely difficult to treat. “Not only are essential oils a cheap and effective treatment option for antibiotic-resistant strains, but decreased use of antibiotics will help minimise the risk of new strains of antibiotic resistant micro-organisms emerging,” said Professor Samaras.

Really? I mean to say, are LA school system lunch lines really that healthy that we don’t need to help make sure that your children have healthy food?

Any teachers out there? What does your school serve in LA County? What do you think? Could a big name with a fantastic idea help change your school?

h chef who took on the “lunch ladies” of Huntington, W.Va., in an attempt to make school food more healthful, has been told thanks but no thanks by the Los Angeles Unified School District. “Our feeling was that his time would be better spent or invested in other communities,” Melissa Infusino, the director of partnerships in the superintendent’s office, said Friday.

Oliver is bringing his “Food Revolution” reality television show to L.A. for its second season, and he and his family plan to move to the area in January, a spokeswoman said. ABC posted a casting notice on its website: “We’re searching for families with children who could use Jamie’s help in the kitchen to overcome the obstacles to healthy eating.”

From the Food Revolution Site:

“This food revolution is about saving America’s health by changing the way you eat. It’s not just a TV show, it’s a movement for you, your family and your community. If you care about your kids and their future take this revolution and make it your own. Educate yourself about food and cooking. Find out what your child is eating at school. Make only a few small changes and magical things will happen. Switching from processed to fresh food will not only make you feel better but it will add years to your life. You can…”

Just a friendly reminder…

If this looks like where your eggs are coming from, you shouldn’t be eating them.

If  you don’t know where your eggs are coming from, you probably shouldn’t be eating them either. They could be coming from a place like this… a place that erupted in Salmonella.

Buy local / certified free range and organic.

From the web:

To qualify as organic, eggs must come from chickens that are fed only organic feed, i.e., feed that is free of animal by-products, synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or other chemical additives. No genetically modified foods can be used. Additionally, organic eggs must come from chickens that are given antibiotics only in the event of an infection — commercial chickens, on the other hand, are given antibiotics on a routine basis. No hormones or other drugs can be used in organic egg production.

Eggs and salmonella contamination

Factors to keep in mind, whether buying eggs from big commercial suppliers or farmers markets or gathering from a backyard coop.

s the scope of the nationwide salmonella outbreak expanded late last month, farmers market vendors reported rushes on locally produced eggs and people with backyard flocks were sitting smug.

But food safety experts say consumers shouldn’t jump to the conclusion that locally produced eggs are any safer than eggs from large commercial suppliers.

“Salmonella and chickens go together,” says Casey Barton Behravesh, a veterinary epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention‘s division of food-borne, water-borne and environmental disease. “Any chicken, whether it’s from a huge farm or a backyard flock, may have salmonella.”
