Tarot Weekly 3/28-4/3/11

A break away from a usual or old way of thinking that could be a negative voice within. Check that. Watch for the inner saboteur, our own trickster when it comes to foundations and / or foundations of passions. We could inadvertently cause our own stumble.

Ideas and plans are still young and, yes, even immature, but everything has it’s cycle from birth to death. We are in a state of constant Bardo, culture young thoughts as would a child. Stoke enthusiasm, creativity, and spontaneity. Cultivate those resonating relationships that are highlighting the free spirit, and lift up the melancholy.

Let go with that grip! Clinging to the way things are or what you don’t wan to let go of (mentally speaking), and embracing the security of change, the flow, movement and newness. Open up your mind, seek improvement by learning through the experience.

There may be concern about how this affects your standing in the eyes of others but one should be cautioned not to be so self deceptive about self importance, or egotistical about the person we wish to be perceived as. Our friends and loved ones see us for who we are, not just the mister or misses popularity that we want them to see.

Examine our reflection. Explore our spontaneity, our inner adolescent. See our self in the moving, dancing, singing, spring time world around us. It is young again.

Note: Mercury is going to go Retrograde this week, on the 30th.

It’s time to be mindful of what we are communicating, transmitting, sending and receiving in our messages psychic, and on the world wide web. *wink* There is a Mars / Aries action adding to an emphasis on the child and action, but that could also lead to foot in mouth disease. Laugh it off. Be light.

Be well,

Tarot Weekly

This week was another strange and tense draw: Key 15, The Devil (R); King of Cups (R); Four of Pentacles (R) again; Ace of Swords (R).

The web that has spun tight about us now loosens slack. We seem to be able to fall through the ever-widening gaps of what appeared to be a situation where there was no possible escape. If we’ve been doing our work and walking our path in the last few months and pay attention to the vibe we are sending and the harmonics we are receiving then we should be in pretty good shape at this point, if not a little worse for wear at least shifting with the changing times.

I want you to consider one thing about the situations that we feel mentally or emotionally tied to, liberation happens when we lighten our heart and mind to allow our life to pass through the confines of our imagined prisons.  The webs have not grown slack, our personal vibration has become refined, and so what earlier held us cannot seem to bind us in the same thing.

I keep seeing this great web of light slowly expanding, becoming so faint that we pass through it, and tho we stay in the same place, the situation has changed because we have changed.

Practically speaking that means we have come to a zenith or center of possibilities, one being that we are now directly confronting our problems. The time is now. The card is in your favore. The moon is in Leo and it’s new a time for new beginnings before it moves into analytical Virgo and we begin to look at, turn, and dissect. Better it be an emphasis of what is possible and an analysis what is wrong, or what doesn’t feel right because the some stellar bodies are moving for you in that direction.

If it’s the shadow you are working with you may find yourself with an opportunity to heal that relationship with your inner self, which deepens your intimate, worldly, and living connections through integration.

Be careful of the Temptation to indulge.

The Devil is accented by three cards, as is the way I pull for weekly readings.

The King of Cups (R) is highlighting an overly indulgent nature, almost piscean (??) that says I control or drown my problems. This could be someone who is emotionally cold or who turns down the volume on his (or her but the card is a King) emotional nature with substance. The potential message there is someone who is telling you that you are over reacting or “too emotional.” Alternatively this can be our own nature that is lording over our feelings about something and we are asked to check in (again) and see if this is a personal dragon or a subconscious message that something ain’t right at mama’s house.

Again with the Moon moving from Leo to Virgo (with some aspects of Mercury thrown into the Virgin mix) it may be a perfect time to clean up house. Just keep in min that planetary cross that could spell some problems with relationships. It seems I already see this playing out with a few people in my direct circle, and I’ve felt a yank or two that has caused me to retract my Leo claws. Last week I said, “Don’t shoot the messenger”. This week be certain before you pull the trigger. The messenger may be a reflection of our own emotional turbulence that you’ve kept in check too long, rather than the cause of the disturbance.

The Devil (R) is also accentuated by one of the influencing energies we saw last week, the Four of Pentacles (R) which has to do with holding onto currency or energy. And I have to ask again, why is it you are holding onto these emotions, bottling them up, or disallowing them to be expressed in a healthy way? I’m not asking you to explode your head off and pull a Pompeii on your life. I’m asking you to look at the deeper current, the situation that so disturbs you, and what is in it that you are holding onto so strongly. Feels tome that the emotional vice grip and the later mental anxiety about the situation are deserving some alternative attention. The are screaming for you to listen.

The last card that pops into the Devil’s play, empowering his influence this week, is the Ace of Swords (R). My first intuition is that the sword has been dunked into the waters, beneath the surface (consciousness) and down into the depths (subconscious). Withdrawn it now holds the treasure on the blade, a crown with the remnants of the ocean still dripping from it’s bejeweled peaks… but is it really? Are we making more of something than it actually is? Are we exaggerating?

Are you an over-actor because of deeper issues? Could you be being willful and pushy only because things haven’t turned out the way you expected?

These are the deeper questions to be asked.

On a last note I do want to say that not all readings are “good” (i.e. what we want) and that sometimes they are what we call “bad” (not what we want). There’s a reason for that. Sometimes what we wanted isn’t that good for us at all, or maybe we’ve imagined things so much that when we finally come out of our illusory haze the “real” relationships and situations we are actually in can seem rude, offensive, and just wrong.

It’s not a matter of right and wrong. When we come to moments like these it is important to stay grounded, face what we are shown with open eyes and see it (whatever ‘it’ is) for what it is worth. When we have seen that we can then embrace it. If we can’t accept the reality, we cannot change it. It may be contrary to our ideas and beliefs.

I  like to say, “It is what it is. Just accept it. When you accept it you can change. When you change, shift, you are practicing magick, and that’s living.”

I hope this finds you well.

I hope you had a lovely weekend, and Lammas if you celebrated. I made a multi-grain and seed salad with raisins, Quinoa, almonds and more for our dinner last night while we kept low-key. Trixie got fixed so I didn’t want to do anything too exciting while she’s in recovery.

Tarot Weekly

The Star (R), 9 of Pentacles (R), 8 of Cups (R), 4 of Pentacles (R)

Sounds like a doozy.

The flow of energy shifts this week and appears to flow out of our hands and in the wrong direction. It also feels as if there are some impacts on the home, wealth / jobs, or income and our emotional attachement to them. Is this “just the way that energy is?” No. We’re creators, and crafters, Magicians and Witches, co-creators, of we are not bound to the course. As one of my least favorite people quoted, “Only dead fish go with the flow”.

Knowing the way that currents can shift and turn by tuning into our finer senses can help us know when and where to create change so that we are navigators. Salmon full of vigor swimming up-stream to destination, not “dead fish.”

The short story of the cards say to me that there is a pouring out of energy, not the healing / reprisal of the star being fed inward as a balm after troubles (the Star follows the Tower) but that is probably flowing that direction for one of two reasons. It could be misguided or even that our emotional direction needs to be looked at.  Our perspective could be askew this week and our good intentions could be better used by directing them towards a felt but unseen impulse to go another direction.

There is a little man walking up the road away from 8 Cups. There are tears, or fear or even doubts about a change in direction we may want to take, stopping us from making this move. This is of course a big red pointer at the 4 of Pentacles (R), hoarding energy or resources, specifically dealing with money, currency (energy), or possessions, the sources whence they come, or where they go: Employer; Home; Spouse; read “Relationships”.

Energy flowing out (Star reversed), misunderstanding emotionally that may need to re-center yourself on what you really should focus on with some bravery (9 Pentacles reversed), and making that change (8 of Cups reversed) and not holding onto situations that you could need to let go of in order for them to change.

So the theme of the energy than is “Offerings” or “Sacrifice”. Giving up what you are clinging to. Fear of loss is the guiding star here, leading us to figure out what is it that we currently trying to keep? What are we holding onto that obviously should be placed in the current, our paper lantern, and let free to float down stream from us?

So how do I make an offering of this?

The Pentacles, Cups, and the Star are pouring in their influence, I might devise some sort of sympathetic ritual or symbolic act. Something that done to represent; or physical acts.  Though we may meditate to get in touch with our deeper currents it is not the act of meditation or more casual, energetic approaches that we could most benefit from.

For example if you find that the situation here illustrates a need to spend more time apart in a relationship you can get up and do something about it moving into a new phase of your change or life. It doesn’t mean you are breaking apart but you can acknowledge your own inner tug to follow your calling at this time (class, school, art, the emotional tug to explore the newness that is opening up within you); Thus honoring your change by offering up the time you would spend normally, by embracing the new creative or joyful impulse. Following a bliss.

If it were a job it might be time to start redressing your thoughts and perspectives about the job, your work place, and what you are doing in it. It may be that your thought forms about the job are now blinders to the reality that you could be experiencing.

You can also address these offerings in ritual, by creating effigies, collages, letters or other created things, that you give up to make room for the new. Remember to give with gratitude for our “thanks” completes the circle of energy and releases us to experience new cycles. We just passed a fire festival, the moon is waning, it is a good time for these things.

In both cases there is a felt need to hang on to an emotional state of being, a point of perspective that is past, being given energy, and is over. It’s time for change. It’s time to move on.

This is noted in the astrological change this week: Jupiter is Aries / Pluto in Capricorn playing out lessons of changing our behaviors and moving in new directions. I’ve been told that this stellar bump will move into the next six weeks and would concern us because it is affecting a larger stroke in the world. As within, so without what is clicking for a need to change within could actually, physically, play out in situations around us as people we know parallel our experience with their own in a collective learning process.

Don’t shoot the messenger. Remember that they are there pointing out differences and in these opposites we find power to create the change in the cracks and crevasses they reveal. It is at our edges, our boundaries, where one world meets another that we find the power to shift.  If we gnash and wail over the endings we miss the joyful jolt of the beginning.

Honor the end/beginning by showing gratitude for where you have been and where you are going. Gratitude completes the circle allowing us to move into a new cycle.

On a side note I might watch your spending and if you were thrifty with anything, make it money for the next few weeks to a month…

Hoping that this finds you well.
